WHAT IS CORE

When you hear the term “core,” abdominal muscles may immediately come to mind, therefor, a lot of people do ab crunches to help their “weak core”.

However, the core comprises much more than the abs. It has at least 29 muscles that attach to the lumbar spine or pelvis.

Key Muscles: Among some we can find the abdominal complex, erector spinae, intrinsic core stabilizers, hamstring complex, hip flexors, latissimus dorsi, gluteus Medius and maximus.

Core is like the foundation of the house, if it’s unstable would lead to other problems, chronic low back pain is one of them.

Try plank, side plank, dead bug, bridge.

(NOTE: Do not do sit up when you have spine-related problems)
